Attempting The Venetian® Macao World Record The attempt to make a replica of Sands Macao, The Plaza and Venetian Macao buildings will use more than 190,000 cards and take 45 days to construct. Overall, the composition will be 10.5 meters (35 feet) long, 3.5 meters (11 feet) tall, and weigh more than 227 kilograms (500 pounds). The cards Berg will use in this record attempt, if laid end to end, would stretch more than 17 kilometers (10.5 miles). To prove that Berg has not used tape, glue, or any other substances to aid his construction, after 10 days of displaying the record-setting replica, he will have to knock it all down! Berg’s replica will include details such as the Rialto Bridge, Campanile Tower, and challenging curved shapes of the Plaza and Sands Macao. Start Date: January 26, 2010 Check out the project blog and read what Berg has to say about his work each day. >> |
